Teacher Karen suggest us a potluck party for Adrian who is going to leave our class on this saterday. Last session, I met him. He was so young, but he was very active and kind person. Because of him, I could enjoy my class, and I could learn about the Maxico. In this apportunity, I wanted to treat something for him, and I also wanted to give something for my teacher and classmates.

For the potluck party, I decided to prepare a Korean food, because I thought it can be a special experience for my friends. I wanted to make some 'Kim Bab'; If it translate to English, it is be 'Seaweed rice'. Kim Bab is delicious and highly nutritious food, and it is the food that is easy and simple to eat. I thought it is perfect for potluck party, so I made it.

In Korea, Kim Bab is not regular food, but it's very familial food. When we want to eat a simple food like festfood, we eat Kim Bab with noodle or something. And, when we go to a picnic we prepare it for lunch package very commonly. In the meal, Korean usually eat rice with many side dishes. Because we can't bring many food when we go to other place, we make Kim Bab which is included rice and many side dishes. According to the preference, matrial can be changed. I used tuna with base Kim Bab matrial, but you can use beef, kimchi, cheese, or anything what you want.

It was great time. Everyone brought some food for potluck party. Someone brought some traditional snack, someone brought their country's famous food, and even a friend brought some alcohol in the party. I could share my food, and I could try to eat other country's food. I think I can't forget that foods. Natto, Manju, Taiwan snack, Maxican food and Tequila. It was great and interested experence. I thank to my teacher and classmates.

I hope it was great time to Adrian. Parting makes me inconvanient, but I think this time is another bigin to Adrian. Maybe we can meet again. I expect that time. I hope he will be good, and I belive he is going to get his dream. May God blass him.

How was your weekend? It is the most popular question that I received every monday. Why do people like that question? Because weekend is something special to people. People usually study or work hard in weekdays. It's hard, and make people exhaustingly, so through the weekend, people attempt to escape from everyday affairs. For weekend, people try to take a rest or to do something special like trip or hobby which thay couldn't do in weekdays. It give energy and relax to people, and through the charge, people prepare next week.

last weekend, I played basketball. Because some exercise make me refreshingly and delightfuly, it's my common way to spend time in weekend. We played basketball for five horse. It was too long time so I felt very tired, but running and shouting with friends rid me of stress. I also could make friends through playing basketball game. There are three people who were playing basketball beside us, so we played together. When people do something together, making friends is easy. I got great time. It was very enjoyable weekend.

I think weekend is very important time. For weekend, we can fill lack and gather the power for next week. We can spend the time useful. Don't waste the time, and try to make a plan.

Two days ago, I met Lichard in the library after the Toeic exam. We talked about our life and turning points. It was really interesting time, because I could more detailedly know about my friend Lichard and his life. He was very good listener and storyteller, so I could interview very comfortably. This story is about him. I'd like to invite you in his story.

Lee, Yi An is his original name that he has. He was born in Hsin Chu city, Tiwan, in 1980. When he had a birth, He was only son and last member of his family which inclcluded grand mother, father, mother, and sister. when he was 3 years old, His family had moved only one time from Hsin Chu City to Tao Yuan County. At that time, he was so young, so he couldn't remember exactly about that. He had active hobbies. He liked to play baseball, bowling, and computer games.

Let me talk about his turning points. As I told you already, Lichard had an older sister who is very samrt and clever. He said that by the time he was young, however, she was a factor of his stress. She studied very well. Even, whenever she had an exam, she always got the first grade. He was usually compared with his sister, so he got big stress from study when he was young. I think that was a reason, he had less interesting to study at that time. In Tiwan, only 10% of junior highschool student could enter the public senior highschool, but because of his grade was not very well, he couldn't enter the public senior highschool. Instead of the public senior highschool, He chose the training college. He studied about computer science in the training college, but when he was forth grade, he thought that if he would graduate only this school, his academic background was not enough to get a job whitch he want. Lichard decided to go to university. Entering the university was very difficult in Tiwan. Only 5% of training college student could join the university. He studied very very hard, and finally he could pass the exam for entering the university. Lichard steped up close to his goal. It was first turning point of him.

I think almost people who took military service learn something important for them from the military, because that is specific experience, and hard time. As other Tiwan gays, after he graduated university, he had to join the military service. He chose the different way than the other guys, and joined a reserve officer exam. He passed the exam, and than he became resorve officer. He handled people. Because of he worked in a regiment, he had to response so many people. He solved peoples problem, and made plan to support other soldier. He suffered from heavy stress, but by the time he learned how to arrange the much task, and how to handle about people.

Yoga and Filates

I came to Canada for studying English. English is important for my life, but as we know, only studying English is the work which is tired and too bored. I need to make my life enjoybly. That's why, I am looking for interesting things which is for my extra time. People usually find these pleasures through hobby or learning something. I think Canada has good system about that. There are many community centers and clubs in Canada, so pepole can contact them easily.

My hobby is playing many other kinds of sports, but this time, I researched about Yoga and Pilates. When I played sports like soccer and swimming, I felt I don't have pliability. I also needed right posture of body, so Yoga and Pilates was attractive to me.When I looked for community center, around people recommend me to go YMCA. They said YMCA is cheaper than any other center, and facility is not bad comparatively. I visited to Metro-central YMCA which was near the Wellesley subway station. It was smaller than my thought, but when I entered to inside, my thinking was changed. There were nice facilities. People were swimming and playing some sports like basket ball. I went to front desk, and I asked about Yoga and Filates programs. Manager gave me information about their program kindly.

Thay had Yoga and filates programs, but I couldn't choose only two programs because they had mambership system. If I want to learn something or want to use YMCA facilities, I had to make mambership. It included everything. I just needed to sign up about program what I want. I could sign up Yoga class and Filates class. Only first time, I could experience for free, but adult general mambership fee was $56.18 including tex per month. There was joining fee for first time member, but I didn't need to pay joining fee because I was full time student. Excepting holyday, They had have Yoga class. On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, they had Filates class. I asked about between Yoga and Filates. She said Yoga was more focused physical than Filates. In Yoga class, people could learn method of meditation and stretching. Filates was focused body. In Filates class, I could learn pliability and I could increase power of muscles.

Learning is important to person, because we can improve our life to better, and we can make our life being happy.
